At the 2010 MidNorth Regional Field Trial we started what we hope to be a new tradition for our Region.

It was a very moving experience on a cool rainy Memorial Day morning in central North Dakota. Some arose earlier then usual to pay a special tribute to our soldiers, those currently serving and those who have served in the past. We stood in front of our Club House, a gathering of friends from North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. As our flag snapped briskly in our famous Dakota breeze, a feeling of awe and pride came over us as we were reminded of the sacrifices our men and women in the military make each day to keep us free and safe. We sang the Star Spangled Banner with pride and respect that morning.

The dogs seemed to sense the solemnness of this day, too. If you listen closely you will hear their anxious barks turn to mournful howls. Some will say it was our singing that the dogs responded to, I have to admit I giggled at first, but if you had been there, you would have felt it too.

It sent a shiver down my back!
