"Andy & Dina's Agnes Gooch"
2x champion
2005-2006 Hi-point winner
Jacquie bought this puppy while I was out of town. She knew I wanted
a Brittany out of Dina and Andy after judging them so often
and heard a puppy had been returned to breeder, Irv Anderson. A quick phone call and Agnes came to live with us.
So much for the skill of choosing a puppy out of the litter!
Agnes has a lot of natural ability and her parents' fire in the belly as she
still squeals like a puppy going to the starting line.
I've always enjoyed watching her snap into a point in a trial. She has a hard stop which pushes her head high even when the bird is close.
A stylishly high head has come to define her finds and I still get compliments from those seeing her in action for the first time.
We have run in 5 national trials with a hard luck story for
each. It is so hard to advance to the third day.
We traveled all the way to Williston, ND to pick up her first championship
in September, 2002.
She really likes the northern prairie as 10 out of her 15 placements, have come from fields in North Dakota.
Her second championship occurred in a very successful weekend
in Oakes as she also wrapped up the hi-point title for 2005-2006.
Together, we have hunted ruffed grouse, sharptails, huns, doves, Kansas quail,
and pheasants in 4 states.
She has done everything I've asked of her even producing three litters over the years.
I hope to own another Brittany of this caliber some day.
Winnie has some big paws to fill.
